Port Authority Staff Trained in Defibrillator Use
Approximately thirty Port Authority employees participated in a course on first aid, basic life support, and the use of an automated external defibrillator (AED).
The training was conducted by 061 emergency medical services personnel with the aim of enabling participants to initiate the chain of survival in an emergency, quickly recognize cardiac arrest, apply airway management techniques, including initial measures for potential obstruction by a foreign body, perform high-quality cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR), and use an AED safely and effectively.
