The Port Receives a Corvette from the Saudi Arabian Navy
After several days anchored in the estuary, the Port of Marín received the HMS Al Jubail frigate of the Saudi Arabian Navy early this afternoon.
This recently built vessel, constructed at Navantia (Cádiz), is making a weekend stop in Marín to conduct various tests of its technical equipment in cooperation with the CEMEDEM center of the Naval Military Academy.
The Saudi corvette is 104 meters long and 14 meters wide. It has a draft of 4.32 meters and will be docked at the West Commercial Wharf until Monday. It was delivered by Navantia to the Saudi navy at the end of March, after three years of construction at its shipyards in Cádiz. It is the first of a total of five corvettes ordered from Navantia for the Saudi Arabian fleet.
