Extension of the Manuel Leiros Transversal Pier

A new 55-metre long berthing line was built with 9m draught, which adds to the existing dock to provide a total length of 150 metres. This dock extension created an adjoining esplanade, finished with its corresponding hard surface and sanitation, water and electricity systems. The new pier was constructed as a gravity wall made up of pre-fabricated concrete blocks en masse.
