The most recent building and installation Works include the Promenade opened in July 1997 along the western side of the Commercial Wharf, leaving the eastern side free for business where Ceferino Nogueira opened the All-Weather Terminal in 2002.
Since 1998, the expanded shoreline esplanade has been divided into two areas, one for the repair sector and the other used as a storage area for containers, where Perez Torres operates a 42-ton Kocks container lift.
In the New Commercial Sector, the Southern dock was opened in 1994 and two cold stores for fruit and other merchandise belonging to Davila Reefer opened in 1996. In the background of this photo, we can see the large-scale building between 1998 and 2003 of the north-western Expansion Area, with its two new mooring lines with a draught of 12 metres, which is earmarked to become the new Container Terminal in the 21st Century. With this Project, the Port of Marin has grown from its 370,000 square metres in 1959 to the 800,000 m2 it occupies today.
On the 13 February 1998, this 700-ton crane left Hamburg under tow by the Lady Hamond to arrive at the Port of Marin on the 22nd February.

Inside the All-Weather Terminal, the first of its kind in any Spanish port, used for loading operations regardless of weather conditions.

The biggest challenge: the Rail Link. This project had been designed for the Port since 1860, was started in 1928 and finally opened in July 2002. It links the Leiros wharf directly with the main railway station in Pontevedra. The rail terminus is currently being expanded to include a third line.

And direct access to the highway network by means of improved access control gates, completed in 2003.
