The result was the Southern Commercial Wharf, which runs from the end of the Northern Fishing Jetty and whose building was completed in 1993, while at the same time, the esplanade between the northern Fishing Jetty and the Leiros Commercial wharf was expanded to make room for Ceferino Nogueira’s new cereal store. Acquisitions for the new Commercial sector included the two 80 ton weighbridges in 1990 and the 16-ton Babcock & Wilcox crane, installed on the Leiros wharf next to the two cranes in this photo.
